Wolfgang Mock’s ingenuity brings us this countertop grain flaker. The perfect appliance for creating fresh flakes from grains of many different sorts.
If you like to eat oatmeal, you will love freshly flaked oatmeal! This appliance can make more than just oat flakes. It can also flake many grains, including wheat, rye, and barley.
If the grain is soft (such as oats), it may flake without any problems. If it is hard, it may need to be softened before it is flaked.
To soften grains, do this:
Place the grains in a zip lock bag or sealed container, along with a little water. The ratio we recommend is 1 teaspoon of water per cup of grain. Seal the grains and water in a container and shake it. After shaking, let it sit for a few hours or overnight. The grains should be softened and ready to flake. Beware not to add too much water because doing so may result in clogging the flaker.
